Vantage Peer Mentors
The Vantage Peer Mentors are a group of Vantage College alumni, passionate about fostering social connections and providing peer support to Vantage One students.
They can help you with:
- Connecting you with the UBC Community and resources
- Questions about UBC Vantage College and university life
- Peer-to-peer support

Meet Your Peer Mentors for 2021-2022!
Degree: Bachelor of Science, Integrated Sciences, 3rd year.
I am from: Mexico.
Interests: cooking & hiking.
Piece of advice to Vantage One Students: Start thinking about your specialization.
Degree: Bachelor of Arts, 2nd year.
I am from: South Korea.
Interests: K-pop, reading mystery books, and palatable food.
Piece of advice to Vantage One Students: it is good to study hard in an intensive degree, but you should have social life at the same time. Please look after yourselves and your mental health!
Degree: Bachelor of Science, Chemistry, 4th year.
I am from: China
Interests: Playing guitar, hiking and cooking.
Piece of advice to Vantage One Students: UBC is a diverse University, so try not to limit yourself in one spot. I encourage you to make friends from different backgrounds, take a variety of courses, and think diversely.

Piece of advice to Vantage One Students: Do not completely rely on your grades. Actively look for extracurricular activities from now on to build experience that will create future work opportunities.

Piece of advice to Vantage One Students: be real to yourselves, focus on enjoying your classes and try to connect your knowledge to real-world applications.

Interests: window shopping, listening to relaxing music, and spending time with my hamster.
Piece of advice to Vantage One Students: Do not hesitate to reach out to people when you need them! They are always here to help you.

Interests: embroidering and Chinese calligraphy.
Piece of advice to Vantage One Students: Do not hesitate to explore! Try out clubs and campus activities as much as you can. I highly recommend traveling around Vancouver as well as other places!

Interests: swimming, reading books, movies and video games.
Piece of advice to Vantage One Students: Reach out to your instructors if you have a problem; be proactive and ask for help.
The Vantage Peer Mentors host monthly events throughout the academic year for Vantage One students to connect with fellow peers, Vantage Faculty and Staff, and learn about UBC services and resources available to them.
