JOINING VANTAGE ONE
To join the Vantage One program, and some of the brightest students from around the world at one of the world's top universities, follow these steps to begin your application.
1. CHOOSE YOUR PROGRAM
UBC Vantage College offers three programs of study — Arts, Engineering, and Science. Each program is equivalent to the first year of a UBC undergraduate degree, in their respective fields.
Review these program streams to find the right one for you.
2. CHECK THE REQUIREMENTS
You may apply to UBC Vantage College if you
- are an international student
- are graduating from an academic or university preparatory program at a recognized senior secondary school
Please note that admission is competitive and that meeting the minimum requirements will not guarantee admission to UBC Vantage College.
3. APPLY ONLINE AND PAY THE FEE
Apply for your position in the Vantage One program online, via UBC's Student Service Centre.
Select the 'Undergraduate Degree Programs' application, then under program selection, choose one of the following Vantage One programs:
- "Vantage One Bachelor of Applied Science" for the Engineering stream
- “Vantage One Bachelor of Arts” for the Arts stream
- "Vantage One Bachelor of Science” for the Science stream
Applications are now closed for the August 2018–July 2019 year of study.
Applications will open in September 2018, for the 2019-2020 Vantage One Program.
When you apply for your Vantage One program, you may also apply for student housing. All UBC Vantage College students have the option live on campus, which we highly recommend in your first year of study.
When applying, you will need to pay a non-refundable admission application fee ($114) and a housing application fee ($50) if you choose to live on campus.
*Note: Vantage One students who are recipients under the approved King Abdullah Scholarship Program offered by the Saudi Arabia Cultural Bureau have the option to live in off-campus or in UBC residence, based on their personal preference.
4. SUBMIT YOUR REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Within a few weeks of receiving your application, we will send you an email to tell you which supporting documents to submit, such as test scores or academic transcripts.
You will be evaluated based on a broad range of criteria that indicate your readiness for university studies. Factors include academic performance in specific courses, the strength of your overall program of studies and other indicators of personal preparedness.
Supporting documents should be sent to:
The University of British Columbia
