Joining Vantage One
To join the Vantage One program, and some of the brightest students from around the world at one of the world's top universities, follow these steps to begin your application.
1. CHOOSE YOUR PROGRAM
UBC Vantage College offers two programs of study — Engineering and Science. Each program is equivalent to the first year of a UBC undergraduate degree, in their respective fields.
Review these program streams to find the right one for you.
2. CHECK THE REQUIREMENTS
You may apply to UBC Vantage College if you
- are an international student
- are graduating from an academic or university preparatory program at a recognized senior secondary school

Please note that admission is competitive and that meeting the minimum requirements will not guarantee admission to UBC Vantage College.
3. APPLY ONLINE AND PAY THE FEE
Apply for your position in the Vantage One program online, via UBC's Student Service Centre.
Select the 'Undergraduate Degree Programs' application, then under program selection, choose one of the following Vantage One programs:
- "Vantage One Bachelor of Applied Science" for the Engineering program
- "Vantage One Bachelor of Science” for the Science program
The UBC Vantage One online applications for 2025/2026 will open soon and will close on January 15th, 2025.
When applying, you will need to pay a non-refundable admission application fee.
4. SUBMIT YOUR REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Within a few weeks of receiving your application, we will send you an email to tell you which supporting documents to submit, such as test scores or academic transcripts.
You will be evaluated based on a broad range of criteria that indicate your readiness for university studies. Factors include academic performance in specific courses, the strength of your overall program of studies and other indicators of personal preparedness.

*If you are applying from a country with single-issue transcripts, you can apply for return of specific documents. Please complete and submit this document along with your supporting documents.
5. STAY IN TOUCH
Regularly visit UBC's online Applicant Service Centre to check your application status, and identify what documents you need to submit.
